Global warming is a long-term rise in the Earth’s climate system temperature. Global warming is a very serious issue as it can affect not only the Earth’s climate but also the atmosphere and lead to havoc destruction. There will be mass destruction if we do not help in controlling the temperature. Such delicate is the issue of global warming. The present scenario is worse than that of last year and it will get worse. The inhabitants of Earth need to put serious efforts to stop global warming and its effects if they want their future generations to observe the beauty of the Earth.
What Causes Global Warming?
When carbon dioxide (CO2), air pollutants and other greenhouse gases collect in the Earth’s atmosphere, they heat up space. The collection of these harmful gases causes global warming.
Imagine that you are stuck in a room with no ventilation. After a few hours, you will have used up all the oxygen of the room, and there will be only carbon-dioxide left for you to inhale. Will you be able to survive for long? The answer is no. Such is the case with Earth. These harmful gases and air pollutants are results of the excessive needs of human beings and the Earth is suffering for it.
As Earthlings, it is our responsibility to ensure the proper conditions of the Earth’s atmosphere. But clearly, we have failed to do so. Now that the high alert signals have gone out and experts are asking us to be very careful about doing anything that further triggers the climate-change, we are being ignorant about that too. It is a disgrace that we human beings are unable to save the place where we are living.
Signs Of The Destroying The Earth
- Temperature change – The temperatures of various places have increased than normal and are on a continuous rise. This temperature change is the cause of widespread heavy precipitation. This further results in an increase in water levels and places are getting flooded.
- Melting of glaciers – The rise in temperatures has resulted in the melting of ice and the glaciers in the Arctic and Antarctic. This has left the polar bears and the penguins homeless and has also led to an increase in the sea levels. If all the glaciers and ice melt, the seawater will rise to such a level that countries will be washed away.
- Hindered plant growth – Global warming will lead to hindered plant growth. There is an optimal temperature for the birth of plants and their growth, just in the way human beings and other animals need an optimal temperature to survive. Temperature-rise will cause an obstruction in the birth of new plants and the death of the existing ones. This in-turn will lead to a downfall in the oxygen levels. Living beings will finally become extinct if they cannot breathe.
As is evident from the above examples, all the effects of global warming are interconnected. These effects ultimately lead to doomsday. It is high time that people start acting carefully and take the necessary actions to reduce global warming. Plant more trees, save the existing trees – they will cool the atmosphere. We need to save the Earth from humans so that living beings can continue living.
